Lead Supply Chain Coordinator - Dearborn, MI - Penske

Position Summary:

Responsible for executing and coordinating a team focused on operational activity including material follow-up, supplier compliance, and customer escalation. Actively involved in escalation, root causing, as well as customer interactions. Responsible for driving KPI's that highlight the business and areas of focus. Partners with team of hourly associates to lead processes that exceed customers day-to-day expectations. Actively looks for continuous improvement opportunities to streamline the teams' daily processes and activities.

This position is located at the Penske facility in Dearborn, MI. Candidate must be willing to work 5 days onsite Monday - Friday (8am-4:30pm) during launch and training. We will then migrate to a hybrid modal of 3 days in the office 2 days remote Monday - Friday (8am-4:30pm). This is subject to change if the business dictates a need to be back in the office 5 days a week.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Partner with supervisors to communicate operational goals.
  • Lead team of hourly employees
  • Provide detailed instruction and training to team.
  • Monitor suppliers and perform follow up on parts to ensure shipment deadlines are met.
  • Timely and accurately communicate and document critical information to internal associates and the customers.
  • Push suppliers for promise dates and promise quantities.
  • Hold them accountable to meet these dates and quantities.
  • Act as first level escalation for Supply Chain Coordinator.

Operations:

  • Assist with new customer process implementations.
  • Prioritize time sensitive situations.
  • Work with team to provide excellent customer service.
  • Lead the team to meet customer's standards, and ensure they are met on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Track parts to ensure on time delivery is met.
  • Analyze process data and work on continuous improvements.
  • Identifying process gaps and streamline inefficiencies.
  • Ensuring all business needs are covered including when there are vacations, illness, etc.
  • Other projects as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of Transportation Management experience preferred, with a focus on shipment coordination.
  • Must also be able to learn and regularly operate multiple company and customer transportation management and inventory systems.
  • Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, team player, flexibility required, verbal & written communication skills, excellent with numbers and time management, strong problem-solving skills required.
  • Advanced computer skills including Excel and Outlook required.
  • Experience using office tools such as MS Office or Google Suite
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the hours necessary to accomplish the job duties, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.

-The associate will be required to drive to the Penske Dearborn facility and walk to their assigned workstation.

-Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
