Overview

The Senior Business Development Representative - Transport is responsible for generating new business through third-party transportation sales by capitalizing on identified market opportunities and executing on sales strategies. Proactively maintains a strong communication network and cultivates collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, while maintaining a superior customer-service orientation that upholds the standards of the Oppy brand and culture.

The expected base salary range of this position is $75,000 - $90,000 plus commission. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position based in our U.S. and Canada office locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by various factors including location, job-related skills, relevant experience, education, formal training, and internal equity.

Required Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the concepts, methods, standards, and practices of shipping, receiving and distribution of goods in the produce or related industry.
  • Knowledge of the product supply chain including manufacturing, quality control and warehousing.
  • Strong analytical, negotiating, and problem-solving skills; exercises discretion and independent judgment on significant matters, particularly in developing new business opportunities while understanding and working around potential obstacles.
  • Ability to travel to assigned locations as required.


Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in business management, with a focus in operations, logistics, or transportation preferred.
  • Minimum, 4 - 6 years of related experience in the transportation and/or 3PL's, and account management; previous experience in sales, cold-calling, and/or business development preferred.
