Control Tower / Transportation Specialist

As the Control Tower you will be responsible for scheduling pick-ups with carriers, preparing shipping documents and following up on customer inquiries.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Ensure all shipments move in the most cost-effective way and are in adherence with shipping guidelines
  
• Obtain quotes for ad-hoc freight movements
  
• Schedule carrier shipments on specialized moves
  
• Ability to prepare shipping documents (BOL's, SLI's, Commercial Invoices, etc.)
  
• Resolve routine Global Transportation issues on Inbound & Outbound shipments
  
• Maintain integrity of Freight Management System to include carrier rates and transit schedules
  
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement
  
• Participate in specialized logistics projects and reporting of KPI's

Experience and Required Competencies

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in a transportation environment including Domestic and
• International shipments
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  
• Experience in TMS/WMS (preference in Blue Yonder), and Power BI
  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
